Kaya Volunteer Programs was established in 2008 by our Director, Heilwig Jones, after her own volunteering experiences in Thailand. The idea was to bring together the quality volunteer programs that would have an impact at the grass roots level. Kaya offers a large breathe of projects, each structured and organized at a level of service that enables everyone the opportunity to contribute positively and travel the world more responsibly.

Kaya is a word which means a lot in a number of the communities we work with. In the Filipino Waray language, it means “I can do it!”, in Zulu “my spiritual home” and in Buddhism “the enlightened one”.
