Volunteer English Teacher (V.E.T) - Reviews and Volunteer Programs in China

The Volunteer English Teacher (V.E.T.) program provides opportunities to volunteer and teach English in some of China's poorest regions. By improving basic and oral English skills, communities will have improved opportunities to continue their education and secure future employment, especially in the tourism and service industry.

V.E.T. is a registered Chinese charity and volunteer organization. It was founded in 2004 by Laurie MacKenzie, a former Canadian professor, and Owen Buckland, President of OMEIKA International Teacher Exchange Association. Since then, dozens of English speaking volunteers have given hundreds of hours of instruction and classroom time to our village schools. All of our staff are volunteers who do not receive any remuneration for their work.
