Program Description

Marine Conservation in The Bahamas

Description

Greenforce is working for The Bahamas National Trust on a marine survey to establish and monitor three new Marine protected areas. The project is now in it's fourth year.

The first couple of weeks on this 10 week expedition will include dive training, where necessary and fish and coral survey training. Thereafter you will do two survey dives a day from Monday to Friday, and a recreational dive on Saturday. This might be a night dive or deep dive, all which will count towards your PADI Advanced qualification that you will gain by the end of the expedition.

One afternoon a week you will visit a local school to carry out marine conservation awareness sessions with the local children. These are fun and interactive sessions that include games and plays.

A vital conservation project in a paradise setting.
