Global Service and Language Program
Description
You will spend five weeks on the campus of Notre Dame de Foy, just outside of Quebec City, in a French immersion adventure camp accredited by the Council of Ministers of Education in Canada, and designed to promote bilingualism in Canada. Even if you are a beginner in the language, you will be speaking French in your classes and activities. The corps of teachers and activity supervisors is young, enthusiastic and well trained.
You will live in a dormitory in a single room in a modern college residence and will have your meals in a cafeteria offering a wide range of choices. Each morning during the week you will spend from 2-4 hours in interactive classes, and your afternoons will be full of fun and gratifying activities.
If you choose community service as your 'workshop' for two afternoons/week, you will be given a certificate for that service. Other choices are theater, dance, cinema, yearbook and many more. You will be provided with a bus pass to go to Quebec City on free evenings, about three times per week. Weekends have optional excursions on Saturdays to whale watching and rafting trips, but students who opt out of these, will have activities planned for them on campus. Sundays have excursions to a water park, a boating lake, the waterfalls, the music festival and fireworks.
