Program Description

Volunteer teaching English in Costa Rica

Description

This volunteer program is set in the small village of San Francisco, nestled between the Caribbean Ocean and a tropical rainforest. Volunteers plan and run lessons and assist with English language education for the community members. The local community of San Francisco, near to the world famous Tortuguero National Park and turtle nesting beach, rely on tourism as their main source of income, so English is essential for their day-to-day business. Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn basic Spanish and work with children and adults and experience Costa Rican culture. Volunteers will also supply additional resources to an under-resourced school, and may be required to assist with other lessons and extra-curricular activities.

Volunteers may choose to spend a weekend or two exploring this amazing region and enjoying its many attractions and activities, including stunning beaches, rainforest canopy tours and white water rafting.
