Affordable Voluntary Service throughout Ireland!
Description
VFP offers over 3000 affordable, short-term voluntary service projects in 100+ countries, including over 25 throughout Ireland each summer. These international voluntary service projects are an opportunity to participate in meaningful community service while living and interacting in an intercultural environment. Volunteer projects vary greatly since they arise wherever there is a need in a given community.
Most projects are limited to ages 18 and up, occurring typically in the summer months. Voluntary service projects are usually from May through September and are of 2 to 3 weeks in duration, although there are projects available in the 'off-season.' A USD 350 per-project registration fee includes accommodation and food. Transportation is arranged and paid for by the volunteer.

Irish Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus
The international volunteers met on the first day of the program in Dublin to learn more about the organization and an overview of what camp would be like. We then spent the night in a hostel before taking the bus to camp the next morning.
We met the Irish staff and volunteers at camp and were given a tour while awaiting the arrival of campers. Camp was a long work day, up at 6am to help campers dress etc then off to breakfast before morning activities, ending about 10pm when campers were put to sleep.
I had a wonderful time and found the staff to be professional and very helpful
