Program Description

Russian Language, History and Service Work

Description

A great opportunity to learn Russian language, Siberian history and culture in the heart of Eastern Siberia Irkutsk. Well-developed Russian language courses available from 2 weeks up to a year. Unlike Russian capital cities, Irkutsk offers the possibility of a full immersion experience, due to lack of native English speakers. The city is located near beautiful Lake Baikal the biggest reservoir of fresh water on Earth. The lake is home to more than 1,700 species of plants and animals, two thirds of which can be found nowhere else in the world. Being a UNIESCO World Heritage Site, Baikal offers possibilities to volunteer in environmental NGO's and social organizations. An ideal opportunity for people interested in native cultures, ecology, foreign relations, and Siberian history.
