Program Description

Medical Internships and Volunteer Work in Uganda

Description

Intern or volunteer in a medical clinic or hospital in Uganda. This is an opportunity to provide a much needed service and learn firsthand about basic healthcare in a third world country. If you have interest or experience in a particular field, let us know and we will try to create a program tailored to you. Here, the intern will be able to receive hands-on experience administering care to the people of Uganda. Your level of responsibility will be determined by your enthusiasm and your aptitude to learn new things. Even as a pre-med, you may end up doing ultra-sounds, x-rays, injections, etc. This is a great program for serious students who are ready to roll-up their sleeves and learn!

Medical Professionals: Share your knowledge and experience with the people of Uganda. There is nowhere that your contributions will be more appreciated than here.

Highlights

There is no friendlier or more welcoming country than Uganda! They are making steady progress as they recover from the terrible years of Idi Amin. Although there are still concerns about rebels in the far north, peace has come to the rest of the country. Tourism is on the rise with wildlife parks, rainforests, rafting on the Nile, gorilla trekking, and much more.
