Program Description

Ugandan Orphanages Need Your Help

Description

Volunteer in and orphanage in Uganda. There are countless orphans, and not enough orphanages to care for them. The orphanages that exist are overcrowded and underfunded, but are performing incredible work. Entire villages have been decimated by the scourge of AIDS epidemic, creating a seemingly endless stream of needy children. ELI works with several orphanages in Iganga, a town in southeast Uganda, near lake Victoria. There is much that you can do. We invite you to join our efforts.

Highlights

There is no friendlier or more welcoming country than Uganda. They are making steady progress as they recover from the terrible years of Idi Amin. Although there are still concerns about rebels in the far north, peace has come to the rest of the country. Tourism is on the rise with wildlife parks, rainforests, rafting on the Nile, and much more.
