Description

Volunteers are always needed in a wide range of worthy projectsincluding; Education (teaching) Programs, Community (Building) Program, Youth work & Mentoring, Health Care Programs, Child Care Programs, Nature & Conservation Programs, Vocational Skills Programs and Health Education Program. When you volunteer in Uganda, your skills will be needed in various aspects ranging from working in the field to administration. You will be required to help women and children, poverty, and abuse who need social reintegration, formal and informal education as well as professional training. You will also be needed to help develop social awareness among women/Youth in the rural areas, to include basic health-care and helping children.

No need of previous experience , as with all our volunteer programs, we provide the tools and training needed to support your placement. When a volunteer arrives in Uganda,our Coordinator meets them at the airport and brings them to our orientation place . From that point our volunteers spend between 2 to 3 days in our orientation program. This training provides volunteers with a very detailed understanding of how to acquainted in Uganda's Life and culture.

Cost Description: 

The program fee covers:

* Pre-service (e.g. culture, health talk, program orientation, training etc);
* 1 day sight seeing around Kampala, world heritage sites, (e.g. game parks,zoos,museums rivers etc);
* Accommodation and food during placement with a host family (upto 2 to 3 meals a day);
* Transportation to the project site;
* Regular follow up support / visit (1-2 week interval) by HB's staff
* Support for local staff and volunteers;
* Support for ongoing host project's established projects in the community

Living Arrangements: 
In Uganda, accommodation depends up on the type of projects and locations. In Host projects like teaching English, local orphanages, HIV/AIDS projects, regional health project and local community projects you will also stay with a host family. Most host families will provide you with a separate room. You will be served 3 meals a day, the Ugandan local dishes primarily , consists of bread, vegetables, Matooke(mashed plantain), Posho (corn meal),Cassava, rice and other locals. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are shared with the host family and other volunteers. and you can experience wonderful Ugandan culture and lifestyle while staying in a host family.
Travel Arrangements: 
Volunteers pay a USD $100 fee for airport which includes picking you up and taking you back after the placement period is over, when a volunteer arrives in Uganda,our Coordinator meets them at the airport and brings them to our orientation place .

The cost to volunteer with HB Volunteer Uganda for a week is US $ 112 and for a month is US $450 for Accommodation and Food (Paid before or Upon Arrival) . US $100 for Pickup to and from the Airport (Paid before departure)
